For the other humanities experience, a REVIEW of a live performance is required. The performance arts include concerts and recitals of all kinds; theatrical productions plays, opera and musicals; and dance ballet and Modern dance. You might even be a bit daring by experiencing cultural and folk events. As you select the event and venue, commit yourself to an entire performance whether Native American tribal dances or a traditional Shakespearean play lose yourself in the quality of the performance.
Concerts and plays are offered at Cuyamaca College and Grossmont College during the semester. Do not hesitate to take advantage of these local creative resources. Consider venturing outside the box to attend a type of performance that you may have never experienced or never expected to experience.
This is your opportunity to explore an area of personal interest in the performing arts. The primary criteria in choosing your destination is that you will be able to directly relate your experience to the study of the humanities through the arts, keeping in mind that many of the performing arts include elements that relate to more than one of the senses. When the performance ends, you are asked to describe including all sensory elements, analyze the intended or implied meaning, and evaluate did it meet your expectations the performance using terminology and vocabulary you have acquired during the term. Use the outline provided as a guide to reporting your discoveries and dont forget to validate your experience.
